At KG, we believe that you, as a student, have potential, talent, and personality waiting to be unleashed. That is why we believe that you, as a student, should be at the center of everything we do at school.
Here you will find a fantastic atmosphere and a strong sense of community with the other students – in the musical and the school magazine, at parties and Friday cafés, in joint lessons, in class, on study trips, and much, much more.
This helps to create a safe environment for your personal development, while giving you considerable freedom to shape both your social life and your education to suit you.
Because we focus on your personal development and have some of the country's best high school teachers, Kolding Gymnasium is the best place to be a high school student, whether you choose STX, HF, or IB.
The first week
The school will do everything we can to help you get off to a good start at high school, both academically and personally. On your first day, a team of friendly student tutors will be ready to welcome you, show you around the school, and talk to you about the classes, teachers, parties, trips, etc. During the week, you will also receive your books and timetable and meet several of your teachers. Various icebreaker activities are planned in the classes so that you can get to know each other and quickly become part of KG life.
The week ends with Friday café, where people meet in the cafeteria, have fun, and listen to good music. Some go home after an hour. Others stay a little longer and maybe meet up later in the evening. It's up to you. But Friday cafés are always fun and enjoyable.
Being a KG student should be enjoyable and safe – that way, you have more fun and learn better. It is important to us that you feel at home at KG.
