Information about your rights – when applying for a job at Kolding Gymnasium

You have applied for a vacant position with us, and in order to respond to your application, we have registered your name and address in our IT system.

With this brochure, we would like to inform you that you have certain rights because we have registered information about you in our IT system. At the same time, we would like to inform you about how we process your application and, thus, about the purpose of registering information about you.

How we process your application

When Kolding Gymnasium reviews your application, we will assess your qualifications in relation to the position. An employment committee will review all applications once the application deadline has passed and decide who to invite for a personal interview with the committee.

Kolding Gymnasium's goal is to fill the vacant position with the most qualified applicant. After the personal interviews, we will often seek additional information about the applicant we find most qualified, if he or she consents. We obtain information about the applicant from the applicant's current or former employer.

We may also ask the applicant to send us more information.

In the vast majority of cases, we receive no negative information of significance about the applicant.

Once we have filled the position, we will send a written rejection to the other applicants.

If you refuse to allow us to seek further information about you, you must expect your application to be rejected. If you agree, and we find information that makes us reluctant to hire you, you will be given the information for comment before we decide whether to reject your application.

You will be given a deadline to comment on the information.

Your rights

You have certain rights in connection with our processing of your application because it is largely carried out electronically:

Right to access information (right of access)

You have the right to access the information we process about you, as well as a range of additional information.

Right to rectification (correction)

You have the right to have inaccurate information about yourself corrected.

Right to erasure

In special cases, you have the right to have information about you deleted before the time of our regular general deletion.

Right to restriction of processing

In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data restricted. If you have the right to restrict processing, we may only process the data in the future—except for storage—with your consent, or for the purpose of establishing, asserting, or defending legal claims, or to protect a person or important societal interests.

Right to object

In certain cases, you have the right to object to our lawful processing of your personal data. You may also object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.

Right to data portability

In certain cases, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, as well as to have this personal data transferred from one data controller to another without hindrance.
