Students and graduates from KG can apply for educational support for qualifying courses, e.g. in connection with starting a course, study trips, or longer study periods abroad. The support is typically provided in the form of an interest-free loan, which is repaid after the end of the study period. Over the years, many former students have received support from "Kolding Gymnasium's Friends" in connection with their studies.

The application deadline is January 15 and August 15.

KGV also awards approximately four scholarships of DKK 2,500 each year. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic and/or social performance at the school. It is not possible to apply for these scholarships.

The association is managed by a board of five members, one of whom is elected by the school's teachers. The student council has an observer in the association.

The association's general meeting is held on the third Tuesday in November.
