SICK LEAVE

Absence and sick leave

Students are required to report illness/absence to the school. In the event of illness expected to last more than one day, the student advisor must be notified on the first day of illness via a message in Lectio. In addition, the absence must subsequently be indicated in Lectio under "reasons for absence" once the lessons have been held. In the case of illness lasting a maximum of one day, the reason for the absence for each lesson must be stated directly under "reasons for absence." In this case, the student advisor does not need to be notified via a message in Lectio. In special cases, the management may require the submission of a doctor's note, which must be paid for by the student.

Exemption from physical education

A doctor's note is required if you want to be fully or partially exempt from participating in physical activity in physical education classes for a shorter or longer period of time. The doctor must specify the duration and extent of the exemption. The cost of the doctor's note is paid by the student.

Students who are completely exempt from physical education must take a substitute subject (at C level).

All students who are to be exempted from physical education classes, either fully or partially, must first contact the head of the program.

Compulsory attendance

At KG, attendance at classes is, of course, compulsory. Teachers record absences in Lectio during each lesson; initially, we pay particular attention to new students' attendance, but as a rule, we do not call home if your child is absent from class. Once a month, all students' attendance records are checked in Lectio, and students with high absenteeism are called in for a meeting with a student counselor. If absenteeism decreases after this, you as parents will not be involved. If, on the other hand, absences increase, the student will receive a written warning, which will also be sent home to the parents if the student is under 18 years of age.
